Around 1.5 million people die of tuberculosis every year, imagine one Jumbo Jet crashing every two hours. Million and millions more get sick. To make it worse, TB costs hundreds of billions of dollars and harms economies worldwide. Among other reasons, that's why I started working at the TuBerculosis Vaccine Initiative, an organisation that facilitates the development of new vaccines against TB.
