PMTCT EVIDENT AFTER POSTIVE PARENTS DELIVER A NEGATIVE CHILD IN MASINDI

Kinyara client group in masindi which is a net work support agent of international hiv/aids alliance in uganda are fighting tooth and nail to achieve there goal of free hiv by 2015 in newborn babies through effecting prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT)This was evident when nNyangoma Sanyu and Byaruhanga Musiime both postive disclosed to the general public yesterday in masindi that there baby is negative in a recent advocacy seminar at kinyara sugar factory mainhall.

mr. omara dennis, the chairman for people living with HIV in bujenje sub-county disclosed that HIV is preventable if precautions are put into considerations properly and effectively. He urged fellow comrades to sentise there friends, relatives, in-laws, so as to achieve a free generation by using prevention of mother to child tranmission (PMTCT) and other methods like abstainance and use of condoms to effectively achieve maternal new born child health.

The parents of Musiime Ronald who is now 4 kilograms thanked the chairman of the group for the sensitisation he has rendered through seminars, advocacy as a way of recieving a free generaton our son is healthy several tests have been taken but all of them clearly consent that he is negative.

what is preventing prevention? still a quesstoin to answer but advocay, senstisation, voluntary counselling and testing if evident, use of condoms and many more can easily help to answer the queston.

it has been evident to some families especially those who are postive that this method has enabled them to leave with families tho infected with hiv.the district health officer was present at the dialogue chambetrs in kinyara and told others also to madopt the effective use of prevention of mother to child transmission.
