Measles vaccination initiative launches in Choma, Zamiba

August 28, 2012 Country Zambia Filed under HIV and wider health issues 0 Comments

Today (28 August) a measles vaccination initiative has been launched by the Youth and Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili in Choma, Zambia.

The vaccination initiative has been brought about due to the increasing number of cases of measles being experienced. A total of 1,200 children are targeted to be vaccinated. The target age for the programme is children aged between nine months to 15 years. The vaccinations will be done in schools and communities in Choma.

I hope parents and guardians will take their children to the various centres if measles is to be stopped in Zambia.
