The director general of the Uganda AIDS Commission Dr. Kihumuro Apuli has asked that every couple intending to get into a committed relationship should get tested first for HIV.
While appearing on a TV talk show last week, Dr. Apuli noted that all Ugandans should take full responsibility of ensuring zero new HIV infections in the country by thorough testing and knowing their status.
According to Dr. Apuli, Uganda as a country is still at crossroads when it comes to the fight against HIV, something which is of great concern.
He has also called on those who have tested positive not to loose hope but rather seek medical advice from health facilities.
